X-Duro Format!

The SRS has been promoting MTB racing since 1993 in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Through the years we’ve run everything from DH and Dual Slalom races to our popular XC series. With the current evolution of the MTB scene and the push toward Enduro riding, we felt it was time to write a new chapter! We’re calling this chapter X-Duro, a combo of traditional XC integrated with Enduro racing.

So, how’s this going to work? There will be three choices for riders, XC only, Enduro only or X-duro.

The races will start like a traditional XC race with everyone on the line. If you’re riding the XC category, it will be like any other XC race where you will complete a number of laps according to your category and have a timed finish. Feeling Enduro? You will get a tag in and out chip for timing the enduro segments and start with the XC racers. Enduro riders will only be timed on the Enduro segments of the XC course. There will be a tag in at the top and bottom of each segment. Your placement will be determined by your descending times, no penalty for transfer time. So you want the whole enchilada? X-Duro riders will be timed on both the XC course and the Enduro segments. You’ll just have to tag in and out on the Enduro sections to receive your Enduro times.

Awards will be top three in each event, XC, Enduro and X-duro.

***Junior and Super Jr classes***

Youths develop at different ages and have different abilities so we have an option here.

Junior class is only an option in the Novice category and may run an abbreviated course, the goal is to have an option for new or less developed riders under age 18.

Super jr class runs just as the adult classes, same course and distances for more skilled or developed riders.

***Course Information***

Summer Race Series X-Duro format.

Abenaki 8/17/25

Start and finish for all racers will be in the stadium area in front of the lodge.

Timing begins for XC and X-Duro riders when they cross the start line and ends when they cross the finish line.

Enduro riders will be timed only on the Enduro stages with no transfer time penalty. Riders, Enduro and X-Duro, must tag in and out with their chips at the start and finish of the stages. All Enduro riders must complete their stages by 3pm.

All riders will follow the marked course to the stages. Slower riders should yield to faster approaching riders. This isn’t the World Cup, be courteous to others and have fun!

Livermore Challenge

July 20, 2025

A turn of the century rough and tumble logging camp that grew into a town. The pioneering spirit of those hearty individuals inspires this backcountry adventure!

Course Details

Race, Ride, Adventure, Hardo or Party Pace, it's your call!

Get ready for a true backcountry mix of gravel, singletrack and a little paved spinning. You'll start with a casual gravel climb by the Sawyer River, passing by the remnants of the historic Livermore logging camp and settlement. This leads to the old RR bed taking you over the height of land into the Rob Brook are next to the Swift river. Now we get into some singletrack for a bit before some more gravel heading toward Bear Notch rd. aid station. Now the Backcountry fun begins! Classic old school singletrack brings you to the Albany covered bridge. This is the half way point and finish for the 22 mile Half Send. If you're going Full Send, there's a good recovery spin on some pavement before you enter the West Side trails in the lower moats. Spin on through the High St. aid station and roll into the woods again. The West Side delivers the goods, singletrack palooza all the way to the finish.

This is a point to point race. We recommend that you have someone with a support vehicle for transport to and from the start and finish. There will be shuttles available as well, timing will vary depending on needs and routes.

Mass start at the bottom of Sawyer River rd.

Start time 9:00 AM for all categories.

Proceeds from The Livermore Challenge support local trails.

White Mountains NEMBA maintains over 100 miles of trails in the Mount Washington Valley. All proceeds will be donated to WMNEMBA!
